Kideo ("we", "us", "our") is a parent-controlled video platform. We take privacy seriously, especially because our platform is used by families and involves the accounts of children.
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is stored, who can access it, and your rights regarding that data.
Parent accounts: When you register, we store your email address, a hashed (encrypted) password, and an optional display name. We do not store plain-text passwords.
Child accounts: When you create a child account, we store the child's display name, a chosen username, and a hashed password. We do not collect the child's real name, date of birth, or any personal identifiers beyond what you choose to enter.
Video data: We store YouTube video URLs and titles that you assign to child accounts. We do not store video content itself — only references to publicly available YouTube videos.
Usage data: Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard web server data including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. This is used for security and performance monitoring only.
Kideo is designed for use by parents and guardians on behalf of their children. Children do not register themselves — only a parent or guardian may create an account and set up child profiles.
To operate Kideo, we use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy practices:

Any future analytics implementation will be disclosed here with a description of what data is collected and why.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data (including all child profiles and video lists), please contact us at privacy@kideo.app with the subject line "Delete my account".
We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
